Hairbrush & Combs: Tame Wild Hair
Sometimes hair can be so wild that it can't be tamed without help. A normal hairbrush won't be enough to do the trick, so having an assortment of brushes on hand is a must! Especially if you're a hairdresser. Clients may have a particular preference which type you use on your hair, while also have purpose-specific hairbrushes.
Selecting a Hairbrush
If you haven't had to purchase a hairbrush in a while, you'll be amazed and confused at how many are now available. Selecting the right one can be tough considering they help resolve different needs. For example, Wire brushes are excellent for using to blowdry hair. However, there are multiple sizes to select from, different size barrels providing you with different levels of volume. One of the safest choices if you didn't want to purchase a pack is the 35mm barrel. It gives plenty of lift without going over the top on volume!
Detangling brushes are the ones you'll find yourself using the most. Their purpose is to help extract knots from the hair and make hair more manageable in general. These brushes are hard but don't cause pain like most others on the market and a new go-to for parents. Paddle brushes are also great for those with long and thick hair, as it allows for large sections of the hair to be brushed at once!
Combs & Other Useful Brushes
As a hairdresser, hairbrushes aren't the only types of brushes you'll need. It's important to also have paddles on hand, tint brushes and combs. Having both fine tooth and barber combs allow you to work with different hair types and assist with cutting services. Our biggest tip is to have a few of each of these on hand, especially for bigger salons. You'll use these more often than you think and sometimes go missing because they're so popular!
