Selecting a salon mirror for your store is no easy feat. There is lots of pressure for finding the right product that is going to match the decor of the salon, while also provides an essential service to its clients. Customers will spend up to several hours sometimes looking at themselves in the mirror, so finding the right mirror may involve more thought than you think. Here are some considerations to make when selecting a salon mirror.
Firstly, are you after something to hang on display or are you after a hand-held mirror instead?
Finding The Right Fit
Finding the right fit is exactly what it sounds like! You're going to want to find something that is going to blend in nicely with the rest of your salon. For example, is there a particular colour or material that will blend best with the salon? Perhaps you've already purchased one within a workstation, so are just after something for out the back. Working out what it is you need exactly and how many is the first step. Review the furniture you already have on hand, then look at what is going to suit best. If your salon has white walls, you may consider one with a black frame to stand out. Alternatively, you may want a more rustic look by selecting the wood.
Furthermore, consider the shape of your mirror. There are a few different styles which can set different atmospheres in the salon. E.g. rectangular will allow the clients to see more of their body, while oval and rounded mirrors have more of a modern feel and will mostly focus on the clients face.
Finally, remember to consider the type of support your building has and to ensure you can hand the mirror on the wall. Some can be rather heavy, so you will need to use the frame for additional support. This will allow a stronger load-bearing and will give you the confidence you need to recreate your salon!
